The challenge
Maison Libertador needed to digitalize a sensitive operation: publishing artworks, verifying who can participate, receiving bids, and awarding each lot with full administrative control.
An art auction is not a generic e-commerce flow. Every artwork has its own conditions, every bidder must be a verified user, and the auction house needs to decide what is published, who participates, and how each sale closes. Payments are managed outside the system, following the real process of the auction house.
The goal was a platform that feels elegant and professional for collectors, while giving the operations team total control behind the scenes.

The solution
We designed and built a managed web platform — not an open marketplace — where Maison Libertador operates its art auctions digitally and under full control.
The public site presents each auction and each artwork on a clear, indexable page. Users create an account, complete an identity verification step, and can then place bids online, with business rules that validate every offer and a bid history for every lot.
Behind the platform, a dedicated administrative back office lets the team publish artworks, manage auctions and users, follow bidding activity, and award each lot. Transactional email notifications keep participants informed at every relevant step.

Product & engineering decisions
A custom platform is defined as much by what it leaves out as by what it includes. These decisions shaped Maison Libertador:
A managed platform, not an open marketplace
The auction house curates every artwork and controls who participates. This protects the brand, the works, and the integrity of each auction.
Payments handled outside the system
High-value art sales follow the auction house's real process. Keeping payments out of the platform reduced risk and complexity without limiting the operation.
Administrative control first
The back office was designed as a core product, not an afterthought: publishing, verification, bidding, and awarding are all operated from one place.
Less complexity, more reliability
We deliberately left out features that didn't serve the first production version, keeping the system easy to operate and maintain.
A base ready to evolve
Documented, maintainable foundations allow new capabilities — new auction formats, richer profiles, more automation — to be added without rebuilding.
The outcome
Maison Libertador is live in production: a platform of its own where the team publishes artworks, verifies users, receives online bids, and awards each lot from a centralized back office.
The auction process is now digital, professional, and controlled, with a responsive experience for collectors and a solid, documented base ready for the auctions to come.
This is the kind of system Dream Makers builds: if your business needs a platform with users, business rules, validations, and a back office, we can bring it to life for your operation too.
